Adding an Equivalent or Synonym to a Term

You can add more than one equivalent in any target language to a term record or more than one synonym in the source language.

Procedure

  1. Click on Modify at the record level or on New at the level of the main term.
    The Term Manager window displays.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter your new equivalent in the Translation field.
  4. Select the language of your equivalent in the Language drop-down list. To create a synonym, select the source language.
  5. Select the Translation Status in the Translation Status drop-down list.
  6. Fill in the appropriate fields in each of the other tabs.
  7. When you are finished, click the Apply button to save your new translation.
  8. If you have created a synonym, click Yes to the prompt Term and translation language are the same. Continue?.
