With the TermBase Editor, you can copy one or more records from one TermBase to another. This can be useful if you know that some terms should be added to a specific TermBase you wish to use for a given project or if you want to centralize all related terms in one TermBase instead of loading many different TermBases.
About this task
The source and target TermBases from and to which you are copying records must be open, and you must have at least Create access rights in the target TermBase for this process to be successful.
Procedure
- Select the term(s) you wish to copy (hold down the Ctrl key and select the desired entries one by one, or to select a whole range of entries, hold down the Shift key and select the first and last entries. All entries contained between these two entries are selected).
- From the TermBase menu, select Copy Record(s) to, and select the target TermBase name.
The selected entries are copied to the new TermBase. The Created date and Created by fields are updated to today's date and the current user in the target TermBase.
What to do next
Note: Attachments are not copied between TermBases; they must be added manually to the target record.
