The TBX (Term Base eXchange) format is used for both imports and exports, for the purpose of exchanging information between users of CAT tools. You can import a TBX file into a server TermBase. Attachments cannot be imported in a TermBase from a TBX file.
Procedure
- From the Start screen of MultiTrans, click Build TermBase.
- Select Import into existing TermBase and TBX.
- Click Create.
- Enter the name of the TermBase you would like to import the file into.
- If you would like to identify duplicates in your imported file by adding a prefix to the duplicated terms, select Check for duplicates and type the desired prefix in the field Prefix with.
- Select the import format as TBX.
- If you are importing date fields, select the Date format (the format in which dates currently appear in your TBX file).
- Click Select File and browse to the location where each of the TBX and the XCS files are saved.
- Click Save.
The entry status now shows as Import Started.
- Click Refresh.
When the status changes to Import Completed, the TBX file has been imported into the TermBase.
