Imports and Exports
A variety of source formats can be imported into the TermBase Web, including Excel, TBX, and tagged lists making it easy to enter your legacy terminology data into MultiTrans and centralize it from there. You can also export your TermBases into TBX and XML formats.
TBX stands for Term Base eXchange, an open xml-based international standard for exchanging structured terminology databases developed by LISA (Localization Industry Standards Association) and published by ISO (International Standards Organization) as ISO 30042. XML stands for Extensible Markup Language. A markup language is used to annotate text or add additional information. These annotations are not seen by the end-user; however, they are required so that a given application can read and subsequently process the text correctly.
A MultiTrans TermBase Web Administrator license is required to access the Import function; additionally, you must have an administrator profile to import into an existing TermBase.
The MultiTrans TermBase Web Administrator license is also required to access the Export functions. While it is not necessary to have an administrator profile to export from a TermBase, your profile must be granted "Export" permissions through the Administration Console for each TermBase you would like to export.
Your Web browser may need to be configured to allow you to download exported files. If you are unable to download any files from your browser, check your Internet Security options and make sure Automatic prompting for file downloads is selected.
