Linking to Another Term or Field in a TermBase

Link to another term or field from any text field within your terminology records. Internal hyperlinks are not bi-directional.

Procedure

  1. Find the term containing the information for which you wish to add a hyperlink and click the modify link next to the term (or, click on the hyperlinked field name to go directly to that field).
  2. Go to the Additional Fields tab.
  3. Highlight the information for which you wish to create a hyperlink.
  4. Click the link button. In the Hyperlink Type field, select Term.
    The Term lookup window opens, allowing you to search for terms in the TermBase and select one to which you would like to link.
  5. The text you selected will automatically appear in the Search for field.
    1. If you wish to search for exactly that text, select the Exact match check box. If not, deselect the Exact match check box, or modify the text that appears in the Search for field.
    2. If you wish to hyperlink to a term or field in your current TermBase, that TermBase will be selected by default in the TermBase drop-down list. Otherwise, you may select any other open server TermBase from the TermBase drop-down list.
    3. Select which language to search in, from the Languages drop-down list.
    4. Choose to Search in all fields if you would like to link to a field value.
  6. Click the Search button.
    Results display in the screen below.
  7. Select the term to which you wish to link, and click OK.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click the Apply button. Clicking on the hyperlinked text takes you to the specified term or field in the target TermBase.
