Opening Local TextBases

When you start a session, the Start Session dashboard allows you to select the required local TextBases and TermBases.

Procedure

  1. From the Start Screen, click the Start Session button. Alternatively, you can select it from the File menu.
The Start session window displays. The Selected resources section at the top displays the TextBases and TermBases to be opened. MultiTrans remembers the TextBases and TermBases opened in the previous session. This means that if you always work with the same TextBases you do not have to select them every time you use MultiTrans.
  2. If applicable, remove any TextBase from the list by selecting it and clicking the X. Alternatively, you can unselect the check box next to the TextBase or TermBase you want to remove in the TextBases/TermBases boxes within the Available at area. If you want to remove all TextBases from the list, click the Unselect All button.
  3. If you want to add new local TextBases to the list, make sure the Available at field indicates LOCAL and click Add... to the right of the TextBases box.
A Browse window displays showing the MultiTrans default directory where TextBases are stored. If you saved your TextBase in another location you can now browse to find it.
  4. After adding the TextBase(s) you want to the list of available TextBases, select the TextBase(s) you wish to open by selecting the checkbox(es) to the left of the TextBases name(s). You may also choose to Select All or Unselect All.
  5. Typing in the Find field filters the list of TextBases to include only those with the typed text in the name. For example, typing in "ABC" filters the list to include only those TextBases containing "ABC" in their name.
  6. To open a local TermBase, click on the Browse button next to the TermBases box in the Available at area. The Open window is displayed showing the default folder where TermBases are stored by MultiTrans. If the TermBase you are looking for does not appear in this list, browse your computer to manually locate it.
Once it has been located, it is added to the TermBases list, and remains in the list for future use.
  7. After adding the TermBase(s) you want to the list of available TermBases, select the TermBase(s) you wish to open by selecting the checkbox(es) to the left of the TermBase name(s).
  8. Click Start.
    The TextBase Search window displays.
