Selecting the Area in which to Define Fields

Both Default and Custom fields can be defined for a variety of areas: Customer, Contact, Business Unit, Provider, Project and Project Group. The same types of fields can be defined in each area; where they are defined determines where they appear and can be used in the MultiTrans TMS.

Customer: These are fields that appear in the Customer module; fields that are relevant to each individual customer. From the top menus in MultiTrans, select Customers > Manage. Select the desired customer and either double-click or click the Details button. Custom fields appear in the Others section on the bottom left-hand side of the page, below the General section.

Contact: These are fields that appear on the Contacts tab of the Customer module; fields that are relevant to each individual requestor (contact). From the top menus in MultiTrans, select Customers > Manage. Select the desired customer and either double-click or click the Details button. Go to the Contacts tab; when selecting a contact, the custom fields appear directly above the Security section.

Business Unit: These are fields that appear on the Business Unit tab of the Customer module of Flow; fields that are relevant to each individual Business Unit. From the top menus in MultiTrans, select Customers > Manage. Select the desired customer and either double-click or click the Details button. Go to the Business Unit tab; when selecting a Business Unit, the custom fields display at the bottom, below the Phone Numbers field.

Provider: These are fields that appear in the Provider; fields that are relevant to each individual Provider such as mother tongue, CAT tool proficiency, etc. From the top menus in MultiTrans, select Providers > Manage. Select the desired provider and either double-click or click the Details button. Custom fields appear at the bottom of the General section.

Project: These are fields that appear when managing projects in MultiTrans; fields that are relevant to each individual project. When creating a new project as a project manager, the custom fields appear at the bottom of the Project section. When viewing or editing existing projects, these fields are also displayed in the top left-hand section of the Overview tab and in the Project tab.

Project Group: These are fields that appear when managing projects in MultiTrans; fields that are relevant at the project group level. From the top menus in Flow, select Projects > Project Groups. When you select a Project Group and click View, custom fields appear at the bottom of the Project Group Details tab.
