The Administration Console
The MultiTrans Administration Console allows administrators to manage access rights, monitor server usage and collect diagnostics when needed for troubleshooting.
- Installing the Administration Console
The Administration Console is installed on the server automatically when you install the MultiTrans Server. You can also install the Administration Console on a desktop computer to carry out file and user accounts management tasks without logging directly into the server. - Logging into the Administration Console
Log into the Administration Console to manage users and profiles, TextBases, Team Server TMs and TermBases, configure central settings and check logs. You must have administrator rights to log in. - Changing the User Interface Language
The Administration Console is available in English, French, Dutch and German. - The Main Screen
Once you have logged in to the Administration Console, the main console screen is be displayed. This window follows a conventional “explorer” approach, with a menu at the top, a tree view on the left and details on the right. - Authentication
Manage user name and password information from the Authentication node of the Administration Console. - Options
Manage your server configuration within the Options node of the Administration Console. - Basic Principles: Users and Profiles
The MultiTrans Administration Console follows a hierarchical logic. Access rights are not given to individual users but to user profiles, and individual users are identified as belonging to one or more profiles. - Managing Languages
To manage the languages available for TextBase TMs, TermBases and in the Team Server, click the Languages node of the Administration Console. - Viewing Connected Users
To see which users are logged on at any time to the server (either TermBase or TextBase), click the Sessions node. A list of all connected users appears in the right window pane. - Auditing User and Profile Activities
From the Auditing node of the Administration Console, you can track all activities and changes regarding user names and profiles. - Managing a TextBase Server
Managing a TM Server - Managing a TermBase Server
To manage a TermBase Server, click the TermBase node. - Diagnostics Tracing Event Viewer and Component Versions
Diagnostics (Tracing and Component Versions) - Managing Search Add-ons
Search add-ons are additional resources that may be used to supplement the content available through your TextBase TMs, TermBases and Team Server. This includes both machine translation engines as well as third-party translation memories such as MyMemory. Use of this module requires a MultiTrans Machine Translation Interface license; this panel is greyed out if such a license is not available. - Connection to Flow
The Connection to Flow node allows you to configure the connection between the Web Editor and Flow, as well as determining how Active Directory customer contacts are divided into Business Units in Flow. - Managing more than one server
Depending on the needs of your organization, the TermBase Server and TextBase Server applications may not be installed on the same server, or you may have more than one TextBase Server due to volume. In this case, you may choose to manage your users and profiles on one server instead of keeping individual profiles on each server. - Location of TextBases and TermBases on the Server
When you create server TextBases through the MultiTrans client and do not modify the default location, they are created under C:\Users\Public\Documents\MultiTrans\TextBases. You can also add a TextBase to the Administration Console manually; it is recommended that the TextBase should be moved into the default location before adding it.
