Understanding the Word Count and Term Count Sub-Tabs
The Terminology tab contains a drop-down list displaying each of the TermBases open and two sub-tabs: the Word Count tab and the Term Count tab, which give frequency counts for unique words and multi-word expressions respectively. The content in the Word Count and Term Count tabs are specific to the TextBase selected in the drop-down list.
Word Count: Whenever a TextBase is created, MultiTrans systematically generates a list of all the single words found in all documents in that TextBase.
Term Count: This tab contains a list of terminological expressions of two or more words, which appear a certain number of times in the TextBase, do not exceed a predefined length and do not consist mostly of excluded words (articles, prepositions, adverbs, etc…). The creation of this list is optional and the user must define the desired extraction criteria.
Words or expressions for which there is already an existing term record in an open TermBase show a paperclip icon in the column to the left. You can hide these words and terms by right-clicking on the list and selecting .
