To ensure consistency across your translated file, you can search for text and replace it, in the Editor window, from the Replace tab, in the Find and Replace dialog.
Procedure
- Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
- Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
- In the Editor view, go to the Home tab, and in the Editing group, select Replace.
- On the Replace tab, in the Find and Replace dialog, enter the search text in the Find what box.
Note: SDL Trados Studio saves the last 10 find strings during an active session.
- Enter the replacement text in the Replace with box.
- Decide if you want to search the entire document or a selection of text from the Look in drop-down list.
- Select Source to search the source segment text or Target to search the target segment text.
- Select Find to begin your search.
- Select Find Next to find the next instance of your searched text in the document. When found, matching text is highlighted in orange with a red outline in the Editor window, as in the example below.
- SelectReplace to replace the text in the Editor window with the text from the Replace with box.
- Repeat steps 7-8 until the following message is displayed: No more matches found.
- Select OK to close the message.
- Enter any new find and replace data in the Find & Replace dialog or select Close to close the Find and Replace dialog.
Note: Select Close to cancel your search at any time and close the Find and Replace dialog.
