Finding and replacing text

To ensure consistency across your translated file, you can search for text and replace it, in the Editor window, from the Replace tab, in the Find and Replace dialog.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
  2. Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
  3. In the Editor view, go to the Home tab, and in the Editing group, select Replace.
  4. On the Replace tab, in the Find and Replace dialog, enter the search text in the Find what box.
  5. Enter the replacement text in the Replace with box.
  6. Decide if you want to search the entire document or a selection of text from the Look in drop-down list.
  7. Select Source to search the source segment text or Target to search the target segment text.
  8. Select Find to begin your search.
  9. Select Find Next to find the next instance of your searched text in the document. When found, matching text is highlighted in orange with a red outline in the Editor window, as in the example below.
  10. SelectReplace to replace the text in the Editor window with the text from the Replace with box.
  11. Repeat steps 7-8 until the following message is displayed: No more matches found.
  12. Select OK to close the message.
  13. Enter any new find and replace data in the Find & Replace dialog or select Close to close the Find and Replace dialog.
