Creating a publication

You can create the publication object independently from all the other objects.

About this task

You create publications (as all objects) in the Repository. There are several ways to do it. We describe here how to do it from Publication Manager.

Procedure

  1. From the top menu bar in Publication Manager select Publication > New.
  2. Select Empty Publication. This is the default template provided with the tool, there may be other ones depending on your configuration.
  3. Select Next.
This opens the browse dialog, that lets you browse the Repository.
  4. In the Repository, locate the folder where you want to store your publication. It must be the type of folder that contains only publications.
  5. Select Next.
This opens the Add publication dialog, that lets you specify a list of properties for the publication.
  6. In the General tab, write the name of the publication in the Title field. Leave the other fields as they are.
  7. Select OK.
This opens the publication you have created in Publication Manager. The publication contains nothing except a Resources folder, also empty.
