From the Publication Manager, you can permanently remove unwanted objects or versions of an object from the repository.
Before you begin
You must have permission to delete objects from the repository.
Procedure
- In the Publication Manager, open a publication:
- Select .
The tree view of the repository is displayed.
- Locate the folder in the repository that contains your publications and select it.
- In the right pane, select the publication you want to open.
- Select Open.
- Click
The repository view window is opened.
- Locate and select the object you want to delete.
- Do one of the following:

| Delete all versions of the object | Click the Delete object button (red X) at top of the pane. | All versions and translations of the object are permanently deleted. |
| Delete a specific version of an object | Click the Versions... button at the bottom of the right pane. A new window is opened with a list of the versions. Select the version to delete then click the Delete objectbutton (red X) at the top of the window. | Only the version selected and its associated translations are permanently deleted. The object remains in the database minus the version that was deleted. |
Results
Objects are permanently deleted from the database. Sometimes objects can not be deleted for one of the following reasons:
- You don't have the necessary rights to delete the object.
- The object you are trying to delete is referenced by another object.
- The object is released or in-review.
- The object is checked out.
