Recommended browser settings

This section explains how to configure your Web browser for use with Online Marketing Explorer.

Clearing the browser cache
Images and other multimedia are stored as Multimedia Components in the Content Manager Explorer. Online Marketing uses browser cache for storing pictures, which means that when you add a new image to the Content Manager Explorer it will not show up in the Online Marketing Explorer unless you clear the browser cache and perform a manual refresh, or wait until the browser refreshes it.
In Google Chrome:
  1. Select Customize and Control Google Chrome.
  2. In Google Chrome Options, click Under the Bonnet tab.
  3. Click Clear browsing data, select only Empty the cache, then click Clear browsing data.
In Firefox 5 and upwards:
  1. Select Tools > Clear Recent History.
  2. In Time range to clear, select Everything, in Details select only Cache, then click Clear Now.
In Internet Explorer 8:
  1. Select Safety > Delete Browsing History.
  2. Select only Temporary Internet files only, then click Delete.
Private data
If you want Internet Explorer to remember your previous session so that when you open the tool in your browser you are directed to the last page you were working on, make sure your browser is configured to collect private data.
  • In Internet Explorer 8, select Tools > Options. In the Privacy tab, deselect the options in the InPrivate section.
  • In Google Chrome, private browsing is available by opening a browser Incognito Window.
  • In Firefox 5 and upwards, you can select ToolsStart Private Browsing.
