Content Manager Explorer and Experience Manager functionality introduced in SDL Tridion Sites 9.1

SDL Tridion Sites 9.1 introduces new functionality for the browser-based user interfaces, Content Manager Explorer and Experience Manager. Some items in this list are the direct result of product improvement ideas suggested by our user community. To suggest an improvement yourself, visit SDL Tridion Sites Ideas.

Display name of used schema in component (mandatory linked schema in folder)
A Component's Schema may be set by its containing Folder (for which a mandatory linked Schema is set, which is applied to all Components in that Folder). In this case, the Schema name was not displayed in the Component dialog. Following an idea to change this as suggested on the SDL Tridion Ideas forum, the Schema now always appears in the Component dialog.
Republish option in Publishing Queue
Following an idea proposed on the SDL Tridion Ideas forum, it is now possible to republish from the Publishing Queue dialog.
Support for previewing SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) files
Following the idea proposed on the SDL Tridion Ideas forum, SVG images are now previewable, just like image formats such as JPG or PNG. Upgrading automatically adds the "Scalable Vector Graphics" multimedia type, unless there is already an existing Multimedia Type associated with the .svg file extension.
Previewing Multimedia Components with embedded fields
It is not possible to preview Multimedia Components even if they have embedded fields. You can use the "Default Dreamweaver Component Design" Template Building Block for this. In existing Publications, you will need to reload default Template Building Blocks to enable this feature; in new Publications, it is automatically available.
Tracing now disabled by default for web-based GUIs
Previously, a system.diagnostics section was included by default in the web application file Web.config located in the web\WebUI\WebRoot\ subfolder of %TRIDION_HOME%. This section is now commented out by default, because it is only necessary in a debugging scenario, and because it could conceivably harm performance.
Product name in GUI changed from "SDL Web" to "SDL Tridion Sites"
The product name change initiated in the SDL Tridion Sites 9 had not been applied to the user interfaces at the time of its release: they still listed the product name as "SDL Web" in several places. This is now fixed, and the GUIs say "SDL Tridion Sites" throughout. This completes the product name change.
