Certain Storage Layer features only work if you use the deprecated in-process API of Content Delivery. Specifically, the option to store content on the local file system is a deprecated feature, given that it only works in combination with the in-process API. - Implementing deprecated Extension types
For a number of Extension types, while it is possible to add Extensions of that type to an Add-on package, such Extensions are considered deprecated, and implementing them is discouraged. Information about building Extensions of these types has been moved to the legacy documentation deliverable.
