The Experience Optimization installer adds Experience Optimization to your Tridion Sites Content Manager and modifies Component Templates.
Procedure
- On the installation media, navigate to the folder Content Manager\ and double-click SDLTridionSites9.exe.
The installer prompts you on whether to modify or remove the software. Select Modify to open the installation wizard.
- Follow the installer's instructions to install Experience Optimization on the same machine as Content Manager. The installer ends by prompting you to reboot.
- After rebooting, open a browser and go to the Content Manager Explorer website. Note the new Targeting option in the slide-out menu.
- For all existing Publications with which you want to use Experience Optimization, you should run the Template Builder to generate Experience Optimization Template Building blocks. When creating new Publications these will be created automatically in the Default Template Folder.
- In Content Manager Explorer, identify all the Component Templates that render Components whose content you want to add to Experience Optimization when you publish them.
- Start the Template Builder application, and open each of the Component Templates you identified.
- In each Component Template, from the Building Blocks panel on the left, drag the Template Building Block called Add to Experience Optimization to include it in the Template. The position is not important.
- Save all Component Templates you modified.
