Classifying content and bulk classification
Tagging your content with Keywords applies a knowledge map to your content to define how content is related. As a taxonomy will often evolve over time and become enriched, reduced, or broadened, you can perform heavy restructuring operations using Classify, Unclassify, and Reclassify operations to better categorize your content.
- Classifying content
-
You use taxonomies to define the possible list values of a Component or Metadata fields as follows:
- Create a Schema, Multimedia Schema, or Metadata Schema and apply a Category to a field—for information on creating Schemas, see Schemas and List fields
- Create a Component—choose the value of a field, or metadata field, from a list of Keyword values as defined by the Category specified by the Schema
- Create a Multimedia Component, Folder, Virtual Folder, Structure Group, Page, Keyword, Page Template, Component Template, Template Building Block—specify a Metadata Schema, and choose the value of a metadata field from a list of Keyword values as defined by the Category specified by the Schema
- Bulk classification
-
Bulk classification of content allows you to add/remove/replace a Keyword association from one or more Content Manager items such as Pages and Components. This section describes the following topics:
- Classifying content—allows you to add a Keyword association to one or more Content Manager items
- Unclassifying content—allows you to remove a Keyword association from one or more Content Manager items
- Reclassifying content—allows you to replace a Keyword association in one or more Content Manager items
