To upgrade the WebForms software on the Content Delivery Server and Presentation Server, you need to upgrade Content Delivery software, upgrade your WebForms Server (running as a Java Web application or Windows service depending on your implementation), and configure the upgraded WebForms Server.
About this task
Important: If you previously published your WebForms to ASP, your existing Forms will continue to work in combination with WebForms 2010 SP1. However, ASP support is deprecated as of WebForms 2010; that is, the next non-Service Pack release of WebForms may no longer support ASP. Furthermore, the new features introduced in WebForms are not supported with ASP:
- Putting multiple Forms on one Web page is not supported for ASP
- Translation support for Form field labels and other static texts on a Form is not supported for ASP
If you wish to continue using your ASP implementation of WebForms, but still use these new features, you can run ASP and ASP.NET alongside each other. To learn about the full implications of this setup, refer to Running WebForms in ASP and in ASP.NET at the same time.
