Translating and reviewing online in SDL Online Editor
You can now use SDL Online Editor to translate and review assets online. SDL Online Editor is a scalable, cost-effective component that combines the core capabilities of a modern desktop translation tool with a friendly interface designed to boost productivity and to ensure a positive user experience.
You can find out more about SDL Online Editor:
Support for multiple resource templates
You can now map multiple language resource templates to file type configurations. This helps you manage divergent requirements related to content processing and define various segmentation rules within the same file type.
Technology upgrades
As a result of our constant effort to bring WorldServer up to date with the latest technologies, this version of WorldServer supports the following:
  • Microsoft Edge 38 or later
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016
Developments related to user assignments
If none of the users assigned to a human step in a workflow can be assigned to a task, the task is assigned automatically to all the administrators in the system and the task history now indicates the reason of this assignment. To be assigned to a task, users need to match the target locale of the task and to be part of the workgroup of the project type.
If a workflow reaches a step assigned both to specific users and to workflow roles, some tasks are no longer assigned only to the workflow roles; they are now assigned to the users as well.
After a workflow reaches a human step assigned to specific users or workflow roles, the number of projects and tasks assigned to them is updated and the new projects and tasks are displayed correctly when selecting projects assigned to me and tasks assigned to me.
Project tasks are now assigned properly if the Submitter role is used in multiple human steps from the same workflow.
Database lock detection in System Monitor
You can now configure the System Monitor tool to report information about potential database locks. Thus, System Monitor can check data manipulation language (DML) statements in SQL (such as SELECT, UPDATE, or DELETE) for known table locks, recording the order in which locks are held in a JSON file.
For information about the settings you need to configure, see Collecting information about database locks.
Customer satisfaction
WorldServer 11.2 contains a number of fixes for issues reported by customers. See the Resolved issues section for a list of the issues resolved in this release.

WorldServer documentation available online

As of WorldServer 10.4.4, the entire documentation has been published online, on the SDL Documentation Center. This means you can access our Documentation Center from anywhere, provide feedback, and even print individual topics and save them locally for later use.

Previous guides have been merged into a single publication, where you can find up-to-date information about your version of WorldServer. However, to speed up the installation process, you can still download the latest versions of the Planning and Prerequisites Guide and of the Installation and Upgrade Guide in PDF format. The following table presents the section titles of all the former PDF deliverables, now renamed into master topics.
