New in SDL WorldServer 11.2
For a comprehensive view of the features introduced in other releases starting with WorldServer 10.4.4, please refer to the WorldServer News and Product Updates page on SDL Community. Apart from release announcements, you can also find information about various fixes and cumulative updates.
- Translating and reviewing online in SDL Online Editor
-
You can now use SDL Online Editor to translate and review assets online. SDL Online Editor is a scalable, cost-effective component that combines the core capabilities of a modern desktop translation tool with a friendly interface designed to boost productivity and to ensure a positive user experience.
You can find out more about SDL Online Editor:
- In the "Installing SDL Online Editor" section.
- In the "Translating and reviewing in SDL Online Editor" section.
- In the following video:
- Support for multiple resource templates
- You can now map multiple language resource templates to file type configurations. This helps you manage divergent requirements related to content processing and define various segmentation rules within the same file type.
- Technology upgrades
-
As a result of our constant effort to bring WorldServer up to date with the latest technologies, this version of WorldServer supports the following:
- Microsoft Edge 38 or later
- Microsoft Windows Server 2016
- Developments related to user assignments
- If none of the users assigned to a human step in a workflow can be assigned to a task, the task is assigned automatically to all the administrators in the system and the task history now indicates the reason of this assignment. To be assigned to a task, users need to match the target locale of the task and to be part of the workgroup of the project type.
- Database lock detection in System Monitor
-
You can now configure the System Monitor tool to report information about potential database locks. Thus, System Monitor can check data manipulation language (DML) statements in SQL (such as
SELECT,UPDATE, orDELETE) for known table locks, recording the order in which locks are held in a JSON file. - Customer satisfaction
- WorldServer 11.2 contains a number of fixes for issues reported by customers. See the Resolved issues section for a list of the issues resolved in this release.
