Configuring the AEM connector
AEM administrator must configure the AEM connector after the installation is complete. This section walks you through the available basic and advanced configurations.
- Step 1 - Set the credentials
The AEM connector uses a set of AEM administrator credentials which need to be set following the steps in this procedure. The AEM credentials enable access to the polling/scheduler mechanism used to update the project status and to retrieve the translated content. - Step 2 - Grant user permissions
The AEM connector uses AEM servlets to perform actions on projects and these require permissions granted to end-user profiles. - Step 3 - Set cloud configurations
The AEM connector installation process installed a default cloud configuration under conf/global (the default location for AEM Translation Cloud Configurations). Choose if you want to keep the default cloud configuration or if you want to set up a custom one. - Step 4 - Configure Language Mappings
It is important to ensure that the language mappings are accurate between AEM and Trados. You must make sure the correct language code is selected. For example, if Trados expects en_us > es, then AEM users must select the correct language codes during translation project creation. - Step 5 - Configure the AEM Translation Integration Framework
Detailed instructions on how to configure the AEM Translation Integration Framework can be found on the Adobe documentation portal (e.g. AEM 6.5). - Perform advanced configurations
There are several functions and features that are configurable during the setup of the AEM connector. Many of these are required on a one-time setup basis, but some could be updated depending on changes to business processes, such as adding new languages or new translation workflows.
