Creating projects

Any Contentful user who has installed the Trados app can create translation projects.

About this task

While Trados supports the creation of project templates and projects which have the same source and target language, we strongly recommend that you do not submit such projects via connectors. Your content tool or your CMS application may not support the retrieval of files which have the same source and target language.

Procedure

  1. On the Trados Dashboard, select Create Project.
  2. Specify the following information in the Project Details window:
    1. In the Project Name box, enter a name for your translation project. This name should be unique and will be displayed both in Contentful and in the Trados Dashboard translation system.
    2. Optional: In the Description box, enter reference details about the context of your project.
    3. In the Project Template list, select the RWS configuration that will be used to define the behavior of the translation system based on the content that it receives.
    4. In the Source Language list, select the source language of your project. Available source languages are loaded automatically based on the project template you selected.
    5. In the Target Language list, select the languages you want the source content to be translated into.
    6. In the Due Date field, specify the date when you want your project to be completed.
    7. In the Content Type list, select the appropriate option. This is a filter to show only entries of a specific type in the Entries list.
    8. In the Entries list, select the appropriate content entries. These entries form the basis of your translation project and are sent for translation.
  3. Select Submit Project.
