Managing projects

You can perform several project actions depending on the project status.

Viewing project details

Go the main AEM navigation menu, select the RWS Translation icon and consult all the available project details.

All the projects are presented in a table format with the following information:
  • Title
  • Description
  • Status
  • Created By
  • Creation Date
  • Due Date
  • Source Language
  • Target Languages (an epsilon marks whether there are multiple target languages which can be consulted upon opening the project)
  • Costs (as processed by Trados)
  • Word Count (as processed by Trados)

Each table heading is sortable, and you can search and filter projects using the upper-left menu in the overview screen.

Users can see the list of files added to the project by selecting the Pages Selected icon on the Project Details page.

Viewing project details

Starting projects

Go to the Projects Overview page and select the arrow icon or open the project and select Start.

Editing projects

You can edit projects that are saved and have the Draft status. When you edit projects you can add or remove files, edit some project details (name, description, due date), and edit some project settings.

Due to the way AEM manages language copies, users cannot change the cloud configuration or the source/target language settings.

Go to the Projects Overview page and select the pencil icon or open the project and select Edit.

Deleting projects

Go to the Projects Overview page and select the bin icon or open the project and select Delete.

Approving and cancelling project quotes

After the project has been started and pre-processed by Trados, there is an optional workflow stage called Authorisation (or Customer Quote Approval).

If this stage exists in the workflow, the connector shows the For approval status. On the Projects Overview page, approve or cancel the project quote. Approving the project quote moves the project forward in the Trados workflow, and the status of the project in AEM changes to In Progress. Cancelling the project quote terminates the project both in Trados and AEM, and all the language copies set during project creation are removed.

Retrying projects

If the project results in an error during project creation, use the Retry button to restart the project and resend it to Trados. When you select Retry, the AEM Cloud connector first removes all the previous project items from AEM and anything that got delivered to Trados. The project is then re-created with -v1 appended to the project name for visibility to the user.

Accepting and rejecting translated files

After the translations have been completed in Trados, they are returned to AEM and the project status changes to Ready for Review. If, during project creation, you enable Automatically Approve Translations, the status is skipped by the AEM workflow.

On the Projects Overview page, use the thumbs up icon to accept the translated files. Alternatively, open the project and access the same icons from the upper right-hand corner. If translations are accepted, the project is marked as completed both in AEM and Trados. You cannot reject translations at the moment.

Downloading translations

On the Projects Overview screen, identify the target language row, and select the file icon to export the translated content.
