Editing segment fields

Segments have metadata attached to them. There are 2 types of segment fields: system fields (generated automatically by the application) and custom fields (defined by you).

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Enterprise by accessing this link: https://cloud.trados.com.
  2. Go to the Resources view.
  3. Select Linguistic Resources > Translation Memories.
  4. Select the check box corresponding to the TM you want to maintain.
  5. Expand the TM Maintenance menu and select the language pair fir which you want to perform maintenance operations.
  6. Select a segment, select TU field details, and:
    • Consult the system fields: Created by, Created on, Last modified by, Last modified on, Last used by, Last used on, Usage count. System fields are not editable.
    • Edit the custom fields if necessary. You can have custom fields of the following types:
      • Text (maximum 255 characters)
      • Multiple text (multiple text strings)
      • Number
      • Data and time
      • Single picklist (choose one option out of all the available options)
      • Multiple picklist (choose several options out of all the available options)
  7. When finished with all your changes, check your segments for this symbol edited but unconfirmed TU. These segments were edited or their status was changed, but these segments are not confirmed yet. To confirm a segment, select it and then select Confirm changes. If you do not select Confirm changes, the segments are not updated in the TM with the latest changes.
  8. Close the TM Maintenance Editor.
  9. In the [translation memory name] dialog, select Save.
