Maintaining TM content

You can edit TUs in the TM Maintenance Editor. You can edit TUs at any time except during TM import. You can update the content and status of your TUs from the TM Maintenance Editor.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Enterprise by accessing this link: https://cloud.trados.com.
  2. Go to the Resources view.
  3. Select Linguistic Resources > Translation Memories.
  4. Select the check box corresponding to the TM you want to maintain.
  5. Expand the TM Maintenance menu and select the language pair fir which you want to perform maintenance operations.
  6. In the TM Maintenance Editor, you can perform any of the following:
    • Check the TM details on the banner: the TM name (and its language pairs if you hover over the TM name), and the TM location, creation date, and reindex date (if you hover over the information icon)
    • Specify a theme - Go to the View tab and choose one of the options: Light (default), Warm, Dark.
    • Navigate the content - Select a segment, go to the Home tab, and use the Next and Previous options.
    • Overwrite content - Press the Insert key and enter your content.
    • Manage tag pairs - To insert a tag from the source segment to the target segment, hold the Ctrl key and then select the source tag.
    • Edit segments - Select a segment and:
      • Change formatting - Go to the Home tab, and use the Show Whitespaces and Change Case menus.
      • Insert characters or symbols - Go to the Home tab, and use the options in the Insert Characters group.
      • Copy content
      • Delete content
      • Zoom in on content - Go to the View tab, and in the Fonts group select Enable Text Zoom. Select Larger or Smaller.
    • Change TU status - Select a segment, go to the Home tab, expand the Status list and select a value: Not Translated, Draft, Translated, Translation Approved, Translation Rejected, Sign-off Rejected, Signed Off.
    • View and edit segment fields.
    • Delete segments - Select a segment, go the Home tab, and select Delete.
    • Undo or redo any operation.
  7. When finished with all your changes, check your segments for this symbol edited but unconfirmed TU. These segments were edited or their status was changed, but these segments are not confirmed yet. To confirm a segment, select it and then select Confirm changes. If you do not select Confirm changes, the segments are not updated in the TM with the latest changes.
  8. Close the TM Maintenance Editor.
  9. In the [translation memory name] dialog, select Save.
