Create custom fields to be able to label your project templates and projects for fast retrieval. You can add a maximum of 50 custom fields per project.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Enterprise by accessing this link: https://cloud.trados.com.
  2. Go to the Resources view.
  3. Select the Custom Fields tab.
  4. Select New Custom Field.
  5. Enter a name (maximum 200 characters) and a description for your custom field.
  6. Under Location, select a folder for your custom field.
  7. Under Resource, select the entity to which the custom field applies: Project or Customer.
  8. Under Field Type do one of the following:
    • Select Number, and from the Default Value list, select a number.
    • Select Decimal number, and from the Default Value list, select a number.
    • Select Boolean, and from the Default Value list, select YES or NO.
    • Select Text, and under Default Value, enter the text.
    • Select Date, and from the Default Value fields, select a date and a time.
    • Select Checkbox, and under Default Value, keep the check box clear or select it.
    • Select Long text, and under Default Value, enter the text.
    • Select Picklist. Under Picklist Options, type the option name and enter a comma. Add as many options as needed. From the Default Value list, select one of the options you entered.
    • Select Picklist multiple selection. Under Picklist multiple selection, type the option name and enter a comma. Add as many options as needed. From the Default Value list, select several of the options you entered.
  9. Select one of the check boxes to decide on the behavior of the custom field: Read-only or Mandatory:
    • Read-only disabled - If you specify Visibility values for your custom field, you can add custom fields to your project during project creation or manage custom fields during project editing.
    • Read-only enabled - If you specify Visibility values for your custom field, you can consult the custom fields associated with your project.
    • Mandatory disabled - You can choose to add custom fields to your project during project creation or manage custom fields during project editing.
    • Mandatory enabled - You must add custom fields to your project during project creation and you cannot leave the custom field values empty during project editing.
  10. Under Visibility:
    • If you chose Project as resource type, decide whether the custom field is visible in the Trados Enterprise and/or Trados Customer Portal environments, either at project creation or in project details. Note that if a custom field has a default value, you can make the custom field mandatory, even if you disable its visibility in one of the two environments. If a custom field has a default value, and it is marked as mandatory, and you disable its visibility, the custom field will be attached to the project, enabling you to search by that custom field.
    • If you chose Customer as resource type, decide whether the custom field is visible in Trados Enterprise when selecting the Settings tab for the specified customer. Note that if a custom field has a default value, you can make the custom field mandatory, even if you disable its visibility. If a custom field has a default value, and it is marked as mandatory, and you disable its visibility, the custom field will be attached to the customer, enabling you to search by that custom field.
    • If you chose Include in Email notifications, decide whether the custom field is visible in Trados Enterprise Trados Customer Portal when users receive email notifications. To have the custom field placed in the Details section of the email notification, instead of the Additional info section of the email notification, select Priority.
  11. Reorder your custom fields to set the sequence according to which they are processed by the system. Press the hamburger menu (hamburger menu) of a custom field, and then drag and drop it before or after another custom field.
  12. Select Create.
