Applying terminology

You can apply the existing terminology to translate segments in the current asset consistently.

About this task

If your terminology includes fields, you can check them in the Lookups panel, below the actual term.

Procedure

  1. Open the appropriate asset in Online Editor.

    If you have the required permissions, the Lookups (Lookups button) panel is displayed on the right side of the screen.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • The recognized terms are marked with a red line above the corresponding words. Click the term and check its translated versions under Lookups > Terminology. If your termbase contains multiple terminology items for the same token, you can choose which one to apply. In the Lookups panel, double-click the terminology you want to apply.
    • When AutoSuggest detects existing terminology, a box is displayed below the segment you are editing. Use the key arrows to navigate the suggestions. Choose a suggestion and either press Enter or double-click it.

Results

The terminology is applied to the target segment. Until you confirm it, the target segment has the Draft status.
