Importing bilingual reviewed files from Word

If you sent your files for bilingual review using the Export for Bilingual Review batch task, you can import the content of the bilingual, reviewed files back into Trados Studio. This import updates the target segments in the *.sdlxliff project file with any edits, tracked changes, reviewed statuses and comments.

About this task

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view, right-click the project and select Batch Tasks > Update from Bilingual Review.
  2. On the Batch Tasks page of the Batch Processing wizard, select Next.
  3. On the Files page, select the project files that you want to update and select Next.
  4. On the Bilingual Review Document Update page, select the bilingual reviewed files (filename.review.docx) to use to update your project files:
    • If the bilingual, reviewed file name has not been changed and the folder structure is the same, you can automatically match the SDL project file (*.sdlxliff) with its corresponding bilingual, reviewed file. This is useful if you have more than one bilingual, reviewed file that you need to select:
    1. Select Add and select Review Documents from Folder.
    2. From the Files of type drop-down list, select Bilingual Review Files (*.review.docx).
    3. Browse to the External Review folder, select it and then select OK.
    • If the bilingual, reviewed file name has changed, or the folder structure changed, or you have only one file to select:
    1. Select the target language for which you want to add the bilingual, reviewed file.
    2. Under the Project File column, select the project file for which you want to add the bilingual, reviewed file.
    3. Select Add, and then select Specific Review Document.
    4. From the Files of type drop-down list, select Bilingual Review Files (*.review.docx), select the file, and then select Open.
  5. Under Update options:
    • Select the status to give to your updated translations in Trados Studio. By default, it automatically changes the status to Translation Rejected.
    • Make a backup of your *.sdlxliff project file if you accidentally overwrite content that you want to keep. Select Create a backup of the project file before updating. If you are working with a Trados GroupShare project, a backup is automatically made on Trados GroupShare.
  6. Select Finish to update your project files with the content from the reviewed files.
  7. When the task is completed, select Close to exit the Batch Processing wizard.
Your *.sdlxliff file is now updated.
