Leveraging LookAhead and fuzzy matches
LookAhead ensures that your translation suggestions are retrieved from TM and MT resources very fast. However, in some cases, the best translation suggestion or match might be the segment that you have just confirmed in your current translation. You can use LookAhead together with the segments you have just confirmed to boost translation productivity.
Before you begin
Make sure LookAhead is enabled.
About this task
LookAhead searches for the next two segments after the current one. If the next two segments contain a fuzzy match, you will not retrieve it from TM, because the look up already happened. Such situations occur rarely, in files where there is a high rate of fuzzy matches (e.g. product catalogs). In such cases, RWS recommends that the AutoPropagate value be decreased to 90 or lower. This ensures that you get both segments looked up and high fuzzy matches through the AutoPropagate mechanism (instead of the TM mechanism).
Procedure
- Go to .
- In the Options dialog, in the navigation tree, expand Editor and select Auto-propagation.
- Select the Enable Auto-propation checkbox, if not already selected.
- In the Minimum match value box, lower the match value rate from 100 (default value) to 90.
- In the Options dialog, select OK.
