Copying termbase entries

Use an existing termbase entry as a starting point for a new entry by copying all of its fields, values, and, optionally, its terms. The newly copied entry is not saved automatically; save it or remove it whenever you need.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Terminology by accessing this link: https://cloud.trados.com.
  2. Go to the Resources view and select Linguistic Resources > Termbases OR select the Terminology view from the main menu, and then select Termbases.
  3. Click inside a termbase row to open the termbase.
  4. In the left-side pane, select the entry that you want to copy.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • To copy the entry without the text of the terms, select Copy Entry. In this case, make sure you enter the new terms before saving the new entry.
    • To copy the entry entirely, including the text of the terms, select Copy Entry > Copy Full Entry.
In both cases, all the fields of the entry are copied, including their values.
  6. Make changes as necessary.
  7. When finished, select Save.
