Workflow
Your organization may impose workflow on certain types of content items in Tridion Sites. This means that such content items must move through a prescribed sequence of steps called activities. This section explains workflow concepts and provides instructions for the various workflow tasks.
- Workflow concepts
When you create or modify a content item, your work may be part of a larger workflow process, therefore it is important to understand how workflow works. This topic provides a high-level explanation of workflow concepts. - Workflow in the Classic user interface
In the Classic user interface, you can view current workflow activities and perform workflow tasks from either the Things to do list or the Workflow Activities screen. - Picking up a workflow activity
You will receive a notification whenever you are assigned with a workflow activity. In addition, you can see all assigned and in-progress activities in the Things to do list. Your assigned activities include workflow activities that are assigned to you specifically and activities assigned to any group of which you are a member. - Performing a workflow activity
The specific work involved to perform an activity will naturally vary from activity to activity. This task describes the general process and things to remember. - Reassigning a workflow activity
If an activity is assigned to you or to a group in which you are a member, you may be allowed to reassign it to another user or group. - Finishing a workflow activity
When you have finished performing an activity, indicate this by explicitly finishing the activity. - Creating a Task
You can create a Task and assign it to yourself or (if you have permission) to another user or a group. - Workflow properties
For item types that are subject to workflow, the item's properties window includes a Workflow tab. The information on this tab includes activity status and history of the item through the workflow process. - Workflow activity details
You can view the details of an individual workflow activity while working from the Workflow Activities page or from the Things to Do list.
