Creating projects on the WorldServer 11 interface

On the WorldServer 11 interface, you can create projects by using the new Create Project wizard, which provides an improved user experience compared to the wizard on the Classic interface. At the moment, you cannot create quote-based projects in the new wizard, but you can upload multiple assets at the same time.

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to the Projects page.
On the WorldServer 11 interface, you can get to the Projects page in several ways:
    • By selecting Projects on the slide-out navigation pane (if it is available).
    • By selecting Work Volume or Your Assignments on the Overview tab of the Home page.
    • By selecting the number of projects displayed under Your Assignments.
  2. On the ribbon, select New Project.
  3. In the Create Project wizard, in the Project Information section, do the following:
    1. In the Project Name box, enter the name of your project.
    2. Optional: In the Description box, enter a brief description of your project.
    3. In the Client list, select the client that requires the project.
    4. In the Source Locale list, select the source locale of the project. The available source locales are the ones associated to the project types configured for the client you selected.
    5. In the Project Type list, select the appropriate project type.
    6. Select Next.
  4. In the Due Date and Locales section, do the following:
    1. Next to Translate to, select the target locales of the project by moving them from the Available Locales column to the Selected Locales column.
    2. Optional: Next to Due Date, select a due date for the entire project (for all the target locales). You can also set a different due date for each locale by selecting the Set Due Date per Locale check box, and then selecting a due date for each locale in the Selected Locales column.
    3. Select Next.
  5. In the Files and Target Locales section, upload the assets (files) that need to be translated as part of the project, and then, in the Target Locales column, specify the appropriate target locales for each uploaded asset. If the project group has only one target locale, that locale is selected automatically. Select Next when finished.
You can upload assets in multiple ways:
    • By performing drag-and-drop operations.
    • By selecting Browse, locating the appropriate files, and then selecting Open.
  6. In the Custom Attributes section, configure any custom attributes that may be required, and then select Next.
The Summary section is displayed, where you can see all the relevant information about your project on a single screen.
  7. Optional: At this point, you can go back to any section and make last-minute changes either by selecting Back until you reach it or by selecting its name.
  8. Select Finish.
