Managing file type groups
File type groups are particularly useful if you want to assign multiple file type configurations to the same AIS property or to configure multiple file types for a single MIME type.
- About file type groups
File type groups store mappings between MIME types (equivalent to file formats) and the file types and the file type configurations that need to be used for those MIME types. In WorldServer, you typically assign file type groups to project types and to AIS target folders. - Adding file type groups
To add file type groups, give them a name and a description, and then add as many entries as you need. - Adding file type group entries
Each file type group entry is an association between a MIME type and the file type and file type configuration that are used to process content. If your project includes different types of assets and you want some of them to use other file type configurations than the default ones, you can create a file type group with multiple entries and assign it to a project type or to an AIS property. - Modifying file type groups
When you modify file type groups, you can change their name or description or you can add, modify, or delete file type group entries. - Modifying file type group entries
Modifying file type group entries involves associating MIME types with different file types or file type configurations. - Deleting file type groups
If you delete a file type group used by one or more project types or AIS properties, the asset processing settings of those projects and properties are changed automatically to the default file type and file type configuration on your system. You can view and modify these default settings for each MIME type by going to Management > Administration > Customization and selecting MIME Types in the Custom component type list. - Deleting file type group entries
By deleting file type group entries, you delete associations between MIME types, file types, and file type configurations.
