Searching for projects on the WorldServer 11 interface

Apart from the search options available to you on the Classic interface, on the WorldServer 11 interface, you can also search for project groups.

About this task

The search criteria that you can apply to find projects or project groups are the columns displayed in the Project Group table. You can add or remove search criteria by selecting Configure Table The Configure Table button. and making the appropriate columns visible.

To search for custom project attributes, make sure that you select Project next to Filter By and that the attribute column is marked as visible in the Project Group table. You can use the following types of custom project attributes as search criteria: Attachment, Boolean, Integer, Text Area, and Text Field.

Attachment-type attributes, however, have a limitation: for optimal results, you need to use only one value of the same Attachment-type attribute per project-level search. You can include multiple Attachment-type attributes as criteria in a single search, but only if you use one value for each attribute. Otherwise, only the projects that meet a single criterion are displayed as results.

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to the Projects page.
On the WorldServer 11 interface, you can get to the Projects page in several ways:

1 Filters are linked to the view that you select. For example, if you create a filter based on multiple search criteria on the projects assigned to me view, that filter is only available when you select that view. If you select another view, such as active projects for my locales and workgroups, the filter you created on the projects assigned to me view is not available.
2 If you apply a filter, that filter is still applied whenever you return to the Projects page on the view on which it was created—even after you log out from WorldServer. To view all the projects on that view, in the Saved Filter(s) list, select All Projects.
3 When you apply a filter on one or more columns that have been removed from the Project Group table, your search also takes into account the information in the removed columns.
