Language Weaver introduces several new features that assist users in their translation productivity gains.

These are the latest features and enhancements delivered in Language Weaver:

June 2024
  • Document watermarking is now supported for Office Documents, PDF and structured content (XML, HTML).
    • Watermarking can be enabled by Admins under Settings > Account Settings, in the Translation section.
    • Once enabled, the watermark is displayed in the footer of the output document.
  • Reporting UI update with a redesigned usage summary.
    • New Usage Summary with number of trainings performed and number of stored/deployed models.
  • Allow download of original or edited version of a document from the Translate page and the Feedback Editor.
    • Once a document has been opened in the Feedback Editor, it is now possible to download either the edited version or the original one.
  • Support for .sdlxliff, .xlf, .tif, .mhtml and .mht file formats.
  • Zendesk plugin is now available from the Extensions tab.
  • Enhancements:
    • Auto adaptive language pair test data is now automatically extracted from the input data.
    • Accessibility Improvements. Multiple Accessibility enhancements have been introduced as we are committed to make Language Weaver products more accessible and compliant with local accessibility regulations.
      • Add a text alternative for non-text content.
      • Use landmarks for the app sections.
      • Increase contrast ratio for text.
      • Increase contrast ratio for non-text content.
      • Link field sets to their group label.
      • Allow text to resize.
      • Allow scrolling inside filters area.
      • Allow scrolling inside top bar menu when zoom is set to 400%.
      • Allow scrolling inside the notifications modal.
      • Fixed filtering not working as expected when zooming in to 200%.
      • Fixed button tooltips covering neighbor buttons on 200% zoom in.
      • Fixed horizontal scrolling and notifications modal not fully displayed on small screens.
    • Security Improvements
      • Added new http security headers

  • New Auto Adaptive Language Pairs tab.
    • It is now easier to create and view auto adaptive language pairs from a dedicated tab under Settings > Language Pairs.
  • Import/export feedback in TMX format.
    • It is now possible to import and export feedback using the TMX format.
    • Import of new feedback using TMX is also supported.
  • The Account Settings page has been redesigned and sections created to organize settings in a meaningful way.
    • New sections include Data Privacy, Translation, Adaptability, Content Insights and Integration.
  • A new setting allows the Account Admins to allow or deny access to ABBYY PDF conversion based on User Groups.
    • The feature is available under Account Settings > Translation > ABBYY Enhanced PDF Conversion.
    • Under Restrictions, you can either:
      • Allow ABBYY to all groups except specific groups.
      • Allow ABBYY to specified groups only.
  • New privacy setting for Feedback.
    • A new privacy setting has been added to the Data Privacy section to ensure that Feedback remains fully private and can't be seen by Language Weaver.
    • With Private Account Feedback set to Enabled, Language Weaver will not be able to see or review your feedback. Feedback will remain fully private.
    • Note that even with Private Account Feedback set to Disabled, Language Weaver never uses the user's feedback to train generic models. If a score or a comment is provided by a user, it may be reviewed by one of our researchers with the aim to understand specific challenges that need to be addressed in our generic models.
September 2023
  • Automated data cleaning rules for language pair adaptation.
    • Extra cleaning is applied to the supplied training data to remove any translation units (TUs) that may contain data that would impede the quality of the adaptation.
    • A summary of the discarded data is provided in the adaptation summary.
  • Fluent Terminology support
    • Dictionary terms are now automatically matched to their inflected terms, and their context is taken into account when applying the translation.
