Configuring to use HTTPS

When you install Contenta Web and Contenta clients, you are prompted to indicate the web protocol (http or https) Contenta will use. After installation, to change the protocol used, you must edit the registry.

If you have configured the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for system security, the value of the cw_SSLFlag must be set to indicate https to enable SSL with Contenta. If you are not using SSL, the value of the cw_SSLFlag must be set to indicate http.

On the Web Server

Edit the registry and set the cw_sslFlag to 1 (this sets it on).

  • On Windows, enter regedit in Start > Run . Find the cw_sslFlag located under the following path.

    HKLM\Software\XyEnterprise\Content@\Web\Settings

  • On Linux, use fileregedit to set the value. See SDL Contenta Administration User Guide for information about the fileregedit program.

On the Web Clients

If you did not indicate https as the protocol during the installation of your client or during installation of the editor plugin, or if you want to change the protocol to https use regedit on your Windows client and set webprotocol to https; webprotocol is located under the path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software >
XyEnterprise > Content@ > Settings > Web
