Required Post-Installation Steps for Windows 7 or Windows 8

Contenta Explorer, Contenta Server and Contenta Web install by default in the C:\Program Files (x86)\XyEnterprise\Contenta folder.

About this task

For Contenta and its tools to create log files, checkout files and export files as well as other temporary files and folders without error, you must change the permissions on the following Contenta child folders:

  • Checkout
  • Logs
  • Temp

Procedure

  1. Log in to Windows as administrator and right-click on the Contenta Checkout folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\XyEnterprise\Contenta\Checkout.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click Security.
  4. Under Permissions for Users, click Advanced.
  5. Click Change Permissions….
  6. Click Users, and then click Edit.
  7. Click/check in the Allow column for Permissions to:
    • Create files/write data
    • Create folders/append data
    • Delete subfolders and files
    • Delete
  8. Click OK or Apply on the opened dialog boxes to save and dismiss.
  9. Follow the procedure for the Logs and Temp folders.
