Setting preferences
You can set preferences for date and time; rows per page; and checkout, import, test, and application directories.
Procedure
- In the banner, click Preferences.
The Preferences window appears.
- Specify the following options:
Option Description Date Format Used in property sheets, history logs, and workflows. From the drop-down list, click a system-defined date format that meets the requirements of your locale. Date Input Format Used in property sheets, history logs, and workflows. From the drop-down list, click a user-defined date input format that meets the requirements of your locale. Time Format Used in property sheets, history logs, and workflows. From the drop-down menu, click a time format that meets the requirements of your locale. Rows Per Page Limits the number of rows of objects that appear, per page, in the list view. Values include 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, 1000, and All. The default value is 100. The value set for Rows Per Page may affect the time it takes for lists to load in Contenta Web. Checkout Directory Specifies the directory for checkout operations. Contenta users would then open the document in their preferred editor. Contenta S1000D users can use a round-trip checkout/checkin process that does nor require a check out directory. Import Directory Specifies the directory used for Dynamic Import or S1000D Upload. Advanced Options: Use Common Test Directories See the SDL Contenta API Programmer Guide for information on this preference. Advanced Options: Use Application Test Directories See the SDL Contenta API Programmer Guide for information on this preference. Advanced Options: Go to Last Repository Location on Login Causes Contenta Web to open the Tree View hierarchy on login to the location selected when your previous session in the active CSDB ended. This option is selected by default; clear it to cause Contenta Web to open to your home page instead. - Click OK.
Tip: Some changes may not take effect until you log out, and then log back in.SDL Contenta Web saves and restores the following for the next time you login:
- the last window that was active in the Details View pane
- the state of the show/hide toggle button that extends the number of rows displayed in the List View pane
- modifications that you made to the List View. That is, columns that you hid remain hidden; columns that you rearranged remain where you left them, and changes you made to column sort order, and modifications to each column’s width.
- your last location in the Tree View hierarchy.
