Menus and Options

The following is a description of the menus and options in Dynamic Import.

MenuOptionToolbar IconUse to:
FileNew
Create a new map file.
Open
Open an existing map file.
Save
Save a new or modified map file.
Save AsSave an existing map file with a new name.
Make DefaultMake the current (displayed) map file the default file to open when Dynamic Import is executed.
Close
Close the current map file.
QuitQuit the Dynamic Import application.
EditInsert Mapping
Insert a new mapping rule below the current mapping. The tool icon is active only when under the Mapping tab.
Delete Mapping
Delete the current mapping rule. The tool icon is active only when under the Mapping tab.
Find Mapping
Use to find a mapping rule by Mapping (element) name. The tool icon is active only when under the Mapping tab.
Cut Mapping
Delete the current mapping rule and copy it to the clipboard. The tool icon is active only when under the Mapping tab.
Copy Mapping
Copy the current mapping rule to the clipboard. The tool icon is active only when under the Mapping tab.
Paste Mapping
Paste the contents of the clipboard to create a new mapping rule. The tool icon is active only when under the Mapping tab.
View Status Display the status bar a the bottom of the window.
ViewView Toolbar Display the toolbar:
ActivityImport
Split and Import a structured document according to the mapping rules. This is a one-step option for both Dynamic Import activities.
Split
Split a structured document based on the mapping rules, and create component files and the DriveFile. This is the first activity in the import procedure.
Import DriveFile
Use a DriveFile to import the related component files made during the Split process. This is the second activity in the import procedure.
GenerateGenerate a map file with the current mapping rules.
View XML

View an XML or SGML document.

PCM ObjectsCreate or update the PCMObjects file.
Edit ConfigDisplay the digui.cfg file for edit in the default editor. On Windows the default editor is Notepad. On Linux the default editor is Vi.
