Exporting a program's codes

This topic describes creating a CSV file to export a program's DM Codes and ICNs.

About this task

When you export a program's codes, you create a comma-separated value (CSV) file that contains all the program's Data Module Codes and ICNs. This CSV file has the same format whether you exported Issue 4.0 or higher codes (which may include Learn Codes or Learn Event Codes) or pre-4.0 codes. To export a subset of a program's codes, see Exporting a DMRL and Exporting an IRL.

Procedure

  1. In SDL Contenta S1000D, navigate to the desired Configuration object.
  2. Click Tools, then click S1000D Manage Programs.
  3. Next to the program whose codes you want to export, click EXPORT.
  4. Click DOWNLOAD to download the resulting CSV file.
  5. Click Save to save the file to the local system.
After the file has been saved, you are presented with an option to Open Folder. This option locates the file which you can then view in a text editor.

Results

The CSV file that is downloaded contains the data and headers that describe the data. The header information begins with a pound (#) character. EXPORT functionality adds language and country codes to CSV files exported from all CSDBs, including those that do not support multiple languages, if language and country codes were previously uploaded.
