You can connect more than one engine of any type to your system to provide quality checking results. Many engine types also require configuration.
Before you begin
To carry out the steps described here you need:
- to have access as an administrator to the Content Quality Settings page.
- to know the homepage for your Quality Assistant system.
- depending on the engine type, you may need to know the configuration details of the engine you wish to add.
You can find the configuration details of the different types of engines in the related topics about specific engine types. Engine types include Terminology Checker, Content Reuse, Acrolinx and Spell Checking.
Procedure
- Login to the Content Quality Settings page page .
- To add a new engine you need to click on either:
- Click to add an Engine area, if you are adding the first engine to the system.

- Add Engine button, if there already is at least one engine added to the system.

In both cases the
Add Engine pop-up window appears.

- Complete all the required fields in the Add Engine window and click Add. The minimum required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). In this case, the required fields are Name and Type.
Now the new engine has been added to the system and some types of engines require more configuration. When required, an additional pop-up window allows you to complete the configuration as in the example below for a terminology Engine. The contents of this window depends on the Engine type.

- Many engine types require additional configuration after they are added. If an engine is not fully configured, it will be marked with a warning icon (
). Such engines are part of the system, but will not yet provide any results to your end-users. To configure an engine, double- click on the engine, or select it and click the Edit Engine button.

- Fill in all required fields and click Save . Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
What to do next
You should test you system configuration, by checking the results you and your users obtain from the Quality Assistant. Specifically, to see if you obtain the expected results from the engine you just added and configured.
