Authoring content using the authoring bridge
The Content Manager authoring bridge allows authors to work in a familiar authoring tool without having to launch another application or browser to perform their writing and editing tasks.
SDL menu in the editor When the Authoring Bridge is installed, a menu is added to your editor for interactive use with Content Manager. A brief description of the menu options is provided.
Creating content You can create new objects from templates or from an existing object, you can modify objects in the repository or in local storage, update properties, and compare versions of an object.
Finding content Content Manager provides a variety of mechanisms for finding content. You can browse the repository or use the search mechanism.
Editing content Editing content takes place in your authoring tool which has an additional menu that provides access to the Content Manager repository. These topics assume you have permissions to edit (RW permissions) and store data in the repository.
Managing local storage Local storage is located on your local system's hard drive. It contains any object that was checked out of the repository. This includes objects that are actively checked-out and objects that were previously checked-out and have been checked-in.
About conditions You build a condition expression using condition names and condition values that have been defined by your publication or project manager.
