Content Editor user interface

The Content Editor user interface includes your access to Quality Assistant.

Ribbon Toolbar and Breadcrumb Trail

You can access all editing features in Content Editor using either of these user interface features:
  • The ribbon toolbar provides Home, Insert and Table tabs, each with specific Content Editor operations.
  • The interactive context bar provides intuitive and context-sensitive editing operations.
  • The Quality Assistant command on the Home tab is only available if you have the Quality Assistant capability installed in your system. It provides content quality results.

Document View

Two views of the content are available:
  • The default view displays the content in a simpler "what you see is what you get" (WYSIWYG) presentation.
  • You can click the Document View command on the Home tab to view the more complicated XML view, which displays both the content and the underlying DITA structure.

You can switch between the two views by clicking the Document View command on the Home tab.

Panels

You can view, edit, and insert content using these panels:
  • General panels:
    • Properties
    • Find and Replace
    • Show Changes
    • Quality Assistant (an optional panel for users of Quality Assistant)
  • Insert panels:
    • Hyperlink
    • Image
    • Reuse Content

Interface Language

You can switch between interface languages by clicking the Interface Language command on the Home tab.

A number of handy shortcut key combinations provide alternative ways to access commonly used Content Editor features.
