Creating the initial status

The second step in creating the workflow is to create the initial status for the roles in the workflow.

About this task

The initial status is where in the workflow the user in a specific role enters the workflow. When you configure the status transitions in the next step, it dictates where the user can send the object in the workflow.

Continuing as a user in the administrator group in the SDL LiveContent Architect web client, under the Settings tab:

Procedure

  1. Select the Initial Statuses tab in the left pane.
  2. Click the Properties button next to the first role.
  3. Select an Object type then the initial status (maybe more than one) from the Selected States select list.
    This sets the initial status (Selected State) for the user, for the Object type that is selected.
  4. Repeat these steps for each object type listed, and for each user role.
