Creating layouts
Procedure
- In the Termbases tree, expand the termbase to which you want to add the new layout. Expand the appropriate access level (Public, Roles, Users) for the new layout.
- Right-click on Layouts and select New.
- Click Next.
- Enter a name and description for your layout.
- Click Next.
General Properties
- Choose a background color and/or image, if required.
- Choose whether you want to append copyright information. Copyright information is defined in the termbase definition, but you can make edits to the way the information is formatted here. Select Append copyright information to open the Font page.
- Choose whether to display language flags alongside each language.
- Choose Field label modification if you want to modify the field labels that will appear in your termbase.
- Click Next.
Modify Field Labels
- Select a field from the Available fields list.
- Click on the corresponding field in the Field labels list and edit the label as required. You can also press [F2] to edit the field label.
- Click Next.
Field Display
- Use the tree in the Entry structure box to design your new layout. The tree allows you to map fields from the termbase definition onto the layout.
- Choose if you want each field to display as an expanded or collapsed structure in the MultiTerm component entry pane. The expanded structure shows both the field label and its contents, as well as any nested fields. The collapsed structure shows the field label but, by default, hides the field content and any nested fields.
- To add a new field to the layout, select the parent level or field in the Entry structure box and right-click to display the list of subordinate fields that you defined in the termbase definition. You can add any of the fields on this list to the selected level or parent field. If there is no list, the selected field has no subordinate fields.
- Choose a character from the Field separator drop-down list if you want to add one after the field label.
- Use Change to define the appropriate display and formatting properties at field label and field content level. On the Settings page, you can define properties at language level under Structure, and at term level under Appearance.
- To replicate changes that you have made from one language to another, choose Copy settings to copy and paste the layout.
- At any stage, you can use the Preview button to display an entry pane preview of your new layout.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
