Setting up AutoCorrect

AutoCorrect settings can be customized for each target language that SDL Trados Studio supports. To access settings for autocorrection, select File > Options and find them under Editor > AutoCorrect.

Procedure

  1. Select the target language you want to change the AutoCorrect settings for.
  2. Change automatic capitalization options:
    • Correct TWo INitial CApitals
    • Capitalize first letter of sentences
    • Correct accidental usage of cAPS lOCK key
  3. (Optional) Add exceptions to the capitalization options.
  4. Enable or disable replacing straight quotes with smart quotes. Smart quotes automatically replace the straight quotes with the typographic quotation marks that correspond to the target language. For example, for a French translation, the quotes (" ") will be replaced with guillemets (« »).
  5. Set up what gets replaced as you type.
  6. Click OK to save your settings.
