  1. Decide for which projects you want to configure file type settings:
    • For the active project, go to the Projects view, and on the Home tab, select Project Settings.
    • For all future projects, go to File > Options.
  4. Select the Common page and then choose which content becomes translatable. Select:
    • Process unsupported file versions to open IDML files even if the version of Adobe InDesign in which the file was created is newer than the version of Adobe InDesign SDL Trados Studio uses. SDL Trados Studio ignores the version that the file uses and creates compatibility with the InCopy version in SDL Trados Studio.
    • Process documents with changes tracking - you do not usually want to process documents that have tracked changes because both the original and the new text is extracted for translation. The problem does not arise if the document does not have tracked changes (even if tracked changes are enabled).
    • Extract content of hidden layers to extract hidden layers for translation.
    • Extract cross reference formats to extract cross-reference formatting for translation.
    • Extract content of the master page to extract master pages for translation. Master pages contain the page layout information for all the pages in a Adobe InDesign CS4-CC Markup IDML (*.idml) file.
    • Process hidden conditional text content - hidden conditional text is conditional text that is not exposed in the source document. If processed or extracted, the text is extracted as the subsequent segment. If not processed (not extracted), the text is included as an inline tag.
    • Extract discretionary hyphens - the placement of discretionary hyphens is dependent on the structure and pronunciation of words in the source language, so usually you should choose to remove rather than extract them.
    • Extract discretionary line breaks - a discretionary line break allows a word break at the end of a line without inserting a hyphen. The position of such breaks is language dependent, so you should usually not extract them.
    • Skip tracking and kerning to skip kerning and tracking tags. Kerning and tracking information applied to source text is usually too closely aligned to the source language text layout to be useful for the translated text, so usually you should not process these tags. If you do process these tags, then kerning tags are represented by <k...> tags , and tracking tags by <t...> tags.
    • Extract additional footnote text - usually you do not want to process documents that have tracked changes, because both original and new text is extracted for translation, which is probably not desirable. The problem does not arise if the document does not have tracked changes (even if tracked changes are enabled).
    • one of the options for Hyperlink extraction type:
      • Do not extract localizable data SDL Trados Studio does not extract any hyperlink content for translation.
      • Extract localizable data from common hyperlink types SDL Trados Studio extracts URL content and email addresses for translation.
      • Extract localizable data from all hyperlink types SDL Trados Studio extracts all hyperlink content for translation.
    • one of the options to Extract file information:
      • Do not extract file information SDL Trados Studio does not extract any document metadata for translation.
      • Extract file description only SDL Trados Studio extracts for translation only the text available in the Description tab of the document.
      • Extract all file information SDL Trados Studio extracts for translation the text from all the free-text fields available in the document metadata. Number-text fields, read-only text fields and values from drop-down menus are not extracted for translation. The only drop-down menu values extracted are the values available in the Content Type drop-down menu from the Mobile SWF tab.
  5. Select the QuickInsert page.
  6. Specify QuickInsert settings to insert tags and formatting, or to insert text and special characters.
  7. Select Font mapping.
  8. Specify the font mapping settings for your source and target languages.
  9. Cliquez sur OK.
