Installing the hotfix rollup on Content Manager

Run the installer in the SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 HR1 installation media to apply the hotfix rollup to Content Manager.

Before you begin

To apply the hotfix rollup, you must have SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 Content Manager installed on the target machine. If you install a new SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 Content Manager server in an existing environment, you need to run the installer from the command line, adding the command-line parameter DB_REQUIRED_VERSION=7.1.0.1, the version number of the database associated with the hotfix rollup.

Procedure

  1. If you have customized your Content Manager settings using the MMC Snap-in, find and note down your custom values for those settings.
  2. If you have made changes to %TRIDION_HOME%\web\WebUI\Editors\CME\Configuration\CME.config, back up that file to a safe location.
  3. From your Content Manager server machine, access the SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 HR1 installation media.
  4. Access the folder called Content Manager\ and run the executable called SDLTridion2013SP1HR1.exe.
  5. Follow the instructions provided by the installer to apply the hotfix rollup to your Content Manager server.
  6. Restart IIS, the COM+ application and any services you have stopped.
  7. If any of the following services were not started before applying the hotfix, manually stop them, because the installer has started them:
    • Tridion Content Distributor Transport Service
    • Tridion Monitoring Service
    • Translation Manager Service
  8. If you had customized your Content Manager settings using the MMC Snap-in, reapply your custom settings manually in the Snap-in by accessing the Windows Start menu and selecting Programs > SDL Tridion > SDL Tridion Content Manager configuration.
  9. If you had backed up CME.config, compare the file to the (transformed) file of the same name in its original location, and reapply the changes you made in the old file to the new file.
