Experience Optimization support history
Support history describes the changes in requirements between versions of Experience Optimization (formerly a separate product originally called SDL SmartTarget and later called Experience Optimization).
As of SDL Tridion Sites 9, Experience Optimization requires Elastic Elasticsearch to index and query its data. Before SDL Tridion Sites 9, Experience Optimization (formerly SmartTarget) required Fredhopper Access Server (FAS).
- As of SDL Tridion Sites 9, Experience Optimization (formerly SmartTarget) no longer requires Fredhopper Access Server (FAS), or Fredhopper generally, and requires Elasticsearch instead.
- From SmartTarget 2014 until SDL Tridion Sites 9, you could obtain the FAS from SDL Customer Support, and install it. For these versions, the supported operating systems are those which Fredhopper supports. Refer to SDL Customer Support for information on operating systems supported by Fredhopper.
In the following tables: N=not supported, Y=supported, D=Deprecated (support may be dropped in the following version release), Dr=Dropped (support is definitely dropped in the following version release), P=Probably dropped (support is probably dropped in the following version release):
