Resolving of push translations

A push translation is a translation initiated from a Publication which contains source content.

In a push translation, the items displayed in the Added Items tab of a Translation Job will mostly be the source items sent for translation.

Items in a push Translation Job are resolved as follows:

  • Local items are always valid inclusions
  • Localized items are always valid inclusions, except when the item has not been translated (an item is considered to have been translated when it has version 2.0 or higher)
  • Shared items are only included if the owning Publication is configured identically to the context Publication. If the owning Publication is configured differently or not at all, the item is excluded.

Configuration refers to the language/Configuration ID in SDL TMS and the Client/Project Type in SDL WorldServer.

  • Duplicate items are removed from the Translation Job when the job is sent to the translation system.
