Adding a field group with a label and basic fields

About this task

Basic fields can only be used in the Basic Fields with Label group. This Field Group allows users to assign a label to a series of basic fields. WebForms provides the following types of basic fields:

Input Text
an input text box
Input Number
an number box
Input Select
a selection field
Input Drop-Down List
a dropdown field

Note that you cannot add Basic Fields directly to a form.

To create basic fields with a label, do the following:

Procedure

  1. In WebForms Designer, drag and drop the Basic Fields with a Label from the Toolbar pane to the location in which you want the field to appear.
  2. In the Properties pane, enter a Unique ID and a Label for the field group. This will appear as a header on the form.
  3. If applicable, enter values for the properties that apply to the field you have added. To enter values for advanced properties, press F6.

  4. To add fields to the Field Group with Basic Fields, do the following:
    • Select the Basic Fields option from the Toolbar pane. By default, the Field Group with Basic Fields can only contain Basic Fields.
    • Drag-and-drop fields into the Field Group with Basic Fields.
    • Add the relevant properties to each of the fields.
